Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing has revealed that it has secured the first of the SEAT Leons it intends to field in the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship.

The outfit, run by Team CVR, announced plans to field a two-car entry into the BTCC earlier this year, with Dan Eaves set to make a return to the series alongside Indian racer Phiroze Bilimoria.

The two-cars will run on E85 bio-ethanol, with the first Leon - an ex-factory WTCC machine - due to arrive from Europe prior to Christmas.

Intercontinental Hotels Group has agreed a two-year deal to become a sponsor of the VX Racing British Touring Car team.

The deal will see the Holiday Inn brand support the team through 2006 and 2007, with an option to extend it into a third year for 2008.

For the new season, the Vauxhall Astra Sport Hatchs of Tom Chilton, Fabrizio Giovanardi and Gavin Smith will feature a striking new Holiday Inn branded livery as the trio fight for success during the new season.

Gavin Pyper will return to the British Touring Car Championship this weekend after a lengthy absence from the series.

In his first season in the touring class last season, Pyper was leading the independent category when he was forced to give up his seat with GA Motorsports after rounds nine and ten at Rockingham.

However Pyper will be back with the team for the final three races of the 2004 championship at Donington Park, replacing Carl Breeze in the GA Astra.

The trio were joined by Dave Pinkney and James Kaye aboard the 50ft Carpicorno vessel, skippered by John Tildesley for the event.

Ahead of the annual media day for the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham tomorrow [Wednesday], SEAT has released studio images of the SEAT Leon TDi it will campaign during the 2008 season.

The team, which will become the first major manufacturer to run under diesel power in the series, has secured backing from Holiday Inn for the season ahead, which in turn see the works cars of Jason Plato and Darren Turner running in a distinctive yellow and green livery.

The covers have come off the BMW 1 Series diesel of Rick Kerry ahead of his debut in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this season.

Kerry will become the first person to enter a diesel powered car in the BTCC when the season kicks off at Brands Hatch, while the 1 Series will also be making its series debut.

"We're very much entering unchartered waters here, so there are a lot of unknowns and we certainly expect a few tears along the way," Kerry said, "but it's also a very exciting project with which to be involved.

Since the trying times at Donington Park, Team Petronas Syntium Proton [PSP] has been burning the midnight oil to repair the damage to David Leslie's car.

As a result, the cars will be rebuilt to the specification in which they raced at Donington.

Meanwhile, the team is well ahead with preparations to run their prototype 2004 contender immediately after the end of the 2003 season.

"I'm going all out to finish this season on a high note," said Leslie, "I got Team PSP's first podium at Oulton last year - another this year would do nicely."

JSM have announced their biggest and most exciting project ever taken; to run a total of six Alfa 147's, four in Class A and the other two in Class B (for Production cars) in the 2001 British Touring Car Championship.

All six cars have now been delivered to the team, and preparation work will begin immediately, with the intention of testing the first chassis in the next two weeks.

Since competing in last year's National Saloon Car Championships, JSM have worked hard to put together a strong team package.
