Looking to protect a slender margin over Tom Sykes in the standings, Crutchlow was confident of a good performance over the weekend but while he got a good start in💧 both races, problems would eventually conspire against h𒅌im.
Running third in the first race, Crutc𓆏hlow pursued the leaders in the early stag𓂃es but began to suffer from severe chatter after just a few laps. Quickly slipping into the clutches of Shane Byrne, Leon Camier and Michael Rutter, Crutchlow was forced down into an eventual fifth place, much to his frustration.
"In race one I was confident that I could stay with the boys but the bike had so much chatter. In the first corner it was fine, but the bike was chatterin🤪g everywhere else, it was a real pr🍰oblem. On the throttle it was fine, but when you came off it, the problem occurred, I couldn't work it out."
He fared even worse in the second race when he slid off whilst disputing the lead with Sykes. Catching the kerb on the run d♍own to the hairpin, Crutchlow would regroup to finish an eventual 13th. However, his col꧃lection of 14 points does now drop him from second to fourth in the standings with six races remaining.
"In the second race I was comfortable behind Tom and feeling confident but I clipped the kerb and down I went. I got back on and worked hard f༒or 13th, but I'm very disappointed. I just have to dig deep and look forward now to Croft."
