BSB Silverstone test: O’Halloran: Changes we’ve made have been really positive

McAMS Yamaha rider Jason O’Halloran made the perfect start to Officiaꦰl BSB pre-season testing yeste🍎rday, as he topped all four individual sessions around the Silverstone National layout.
The ch💧ampionship runner-up in 2020 to fellow Australian Josh Brookes, will be looking to go one step further this season and claim a first British Superbike title.
Following the openi♎ng day of action, O’Halloran said: "To be honest it was great to get back out on the bike. The first session was a little bit patchy, so we just did some laps to g♐et the feeling back.
"The second session was really good for us. It was pretty much an identical bike to the one I rไode here last year. In the lunch break, the boys changed the engine and we tried the 2021 spec, which we tried this afternoon for the last two sessions."
While O’Halloran kept his place atop the standings during the afternoon, the 33 year-old did not improve as𝔍 his best time came on the previous spec engine.
"Although we ended up at the top, this slowed us down a bit – when you put a new spe☂c in you have to work through things like fuelling and throttle cables, so we’ve just been doing laps this afternoon to get thi🔯ngs to my liking,” added O’Halloran.
"Compared with how I felt on the previous bike, the changes we’ve made have been really positive and I feel comfortable, w🅠e’ve just got to tweak it to make it my own again. We’ll do that tomorrow and also some chassis stuff, so we can look fꦅorward to that tomorrow."
