Scott Redding has b꧒roken Josh Brookes’ winning momentum by taking a maiden victory at Oulton Park in the penultimate race before the Bennetts British Superbike Showdown kicks into action💦.
After claiming his debut Oulton Park rostrum in the yesterday’s opener꧟, Redding slotted into fourth during the opening lap tussles before following Tommy Bridewell through past Bradley Ray as Brookes briefly dropꦚped to fourth place.
Despite setting a fastest lap Bridewell was unable to escap𒊎e the chasing pack headed by Redding with the former MotoGP rider diving up the inside of the Oxford Racing Ducati rider at Hizzy’s chicane🌌 to lead on Lap 12.
Redding produced some high class defensive riding to keep hold of his lead in the closing stages which backed Bridewell into Brookes who profited to steal second place from the British rider 🍷at the chequered flag by less than one-tenth of a second.
But the glory went to Redding for his maiden Oulton Park ꧂win and his first BSB triumph since doing the double at Snetterton back in July.
With Brookes and Bridewell completing the podium, Bradley Ray claimed fourth place after fading late on 𓃲for Buildbase Suzuki.
Danny Buchan, fresh from securing his place in the BSB Showdown yester🤪day, led the second train of riders in fifth place for FS-3 Racing Kawasaki ahead of McAMS Yamaha’s Jason O’Halloran.
Christian Iddon kept his Showdown hopes alive by closing to eighth points behind Peter Hickman ಞin the final top six spot as the Smiths Racing BMW rider finished directly behind the Tyco BMW rider in seventh and eighth respectively.
Tarran Mackenzie also moved closer to securing his BSB Showdown place wiꦦth ninth for McAMS Yamaha. Mackenzie, in fifth in the standings, is now 20 points clear of nearest rivꦯals outside the top six Andrew Irwin and Xavi Fores.
Irwin was excluded from the race after ignoring BSB rules and restarting after crashing during theꦇ opene🐲r.
Luke Mossey claimed 10th for OMG Racing Suzuki ahead of Fores for Honda with Luke Stapleford (Buildbase Suzuki) in 12th place.
Joe Francis (PR Lloyds & Jones BMW), Claudio Corti 🐭(WD-40 Racing Kawasaki) and Glenn Irwin (Tyco BMW) rounded out the points.
An early safety car period was 🌃required after James Ellison crashed for MV Agusta.
