Team Halfords 1992 British Touring Car Champion driver Tim Harvey a𓃲nd Team Principle Vic Lee, return to their Kentish roots for the penultimate British Touring Car round at Brands Hatch this comin🐠g weekend.

Both we💟ll-known personalities return to the circuit that witnessed the start of their recognized careers in motorsport many years ago.

Vic Lee, Principle of Team Halfords, was born and bred in Kent, starting his own motor racing career at Brands Hatch circuit, dr൲iving a mini as part of the special saloon car Championship in 1969. Lee has spent most of his life 'Down South' from his schooling through to his first job at the VW dealership in Dartford that introduced him to the world of motor racing.

Lee comments: "It all started at Brands Hatch for me, I always look forward to racing here as it's my true home circuit. but I wish I had dedicated more of my time to driving back in the early days, I was more mad than skilful, but I did realise that with all my background in mechanics and my insigไht into racing, I wanted to go onto running my own teams."

Kent can also claim the introduction of Vic Lee and T💙im Harvey. Vic initially formed a friendshipꦐ with David Harvey, Tim's father in 1973 when Vic worked on the Kentish estate agents Jaguar road cars, which formed part of Jaguar Drivers Club. This later led to Lee and Harvey teamed together in a 1984 Championship, after which the two remained close rivals and good friends.

Tim Harvey's motor racing career was also kick started at Brands Hatch. His first ever race in 1983 driving a Formula Ford 1600, Brands Hatch holds a multitude of boyhood memories. Tim's firꦿst job in the building trade was based in Longfield in Kent before he was finally overtaken by an insatiable desire to be a racing car dr♛iver.

Harvey notes: "I have a great number of memories connected to Kent and especially Brands Hatch, I had my first ever drink in the Rising S🔜un one mile away from the circuit, I also had my first car crash near by! But main🐲ly it's the place where my dreams of racing all began, I will always think of Brands as my home circuit."

Both Lee and Harvey will be better known for their British Touring Car Cham🎐pionship victory with BMW in 1992. Now 10 years on, their partnership in this year's BTCC is stronger than ever. Harvey is confident they can turn their fortunes around for the rema🌳ining two rounds of the season to finish strongly.
