Lexus bows out of Thruxton.
They hoped to have two cars this weekend at Thruxton, but after a series of engine blows the HPI Racing Friends Reunited team are packing up an🌳d heading home from the second round of the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship.
Pre-round prepa♚ration in the week had seen the Lexus entry for the BTCC be cut down to the sole Lexus of Richard Williams. Although team-mate Ian Curley's car was ready, quite some task in itself, the shakedown en♔gine blow meant that only Williams car would be entered.

Williams managed some ten laps in the first free practice session with a best time of 1min 25.531secs, b♋ut in the second practice session the red flags were out due to an abandoned Lexus on trackꩵ. The final engine was toasted.
The team is now looking to Brands Hatch where it hopes to have both cars, fully equipped with en🥀gi🥂nes, out in action.
