Motorbase Performance's Tom Chilton has clinched💛 his first British Touring Car Championship victory since Silverstone 2011 after winning a rain-soaked reverse grid finale💫 at Knockhill.

The Ford Focus RS driver st🔴arted from pole position and led every lap of the final race of the day, but had to res🍸ist a late charge from championship leader Colin Turkington in order to secure his first win Motorbase colours.

At one point, Chilton enjoyed an over two-second advantage ahead of 🔴the chasing pack. However, once Team BMW's Turkington dispatched Adam Morgan on the tenth lap of the race for second position, Chilton's position as race leader beg⛄an to look vulnerable.

Although Turkington managed to make light work of closing the gap to the race leading Ford Focus, Chilton was inch perfect in defence and successfully heꦦld the BMW at bay to pick up Motorbase Performance's first race win of 201𒐪8.

Just 0.948s separated the top-two as they crossed the line, while BMW Pirtek Racing's Andrew  Jordan followed up a further five-seconds behind to complete the podium order in third, capping off a stꦕrong day for the 2013 BTCC champion.

Chilton's first win since returning to the series also meant☂ he was a♔ record breaking 14th different driver to have won a race in a single season.

Despite holding second for the opening third of the race, Morgan eventually had to settle for fourth, while Sam Tordoff scored further points for Motorbase𓄧 Performance in fifth꧋ position.

Josh Cook came out on top oꦡf a 🧸bruising battle for sixth position ahead of home hero Rory Butcher, who finished in seventh. 

Having been forced to start the reve🐻rse grid encounter after his race two exclusion, Subaru's Ashley Sutton valiantly fought his way back up the order to finish the day in eighth, as Jack Goff and Daniel Lloyd completed the remainder of🦩 the top-ten in ninth and tenth.
