Josh Cook continued his rich vein of form at♍ Thruxton after leading home a triumphant BTC Racing 1-2 result ahead of Dan Cammish to record his second British Touring Car Championship race victory at Thruxton.

Following what proved to be an incident packed season opener, race two turned out to be just as dramatic after a huge shunt involving Andy N🎃eate, Glynn Geddie and 🥀Jade Edwards meant the race had to be red flagged on lap one.

With a complete restart, Cook once again led the field from pole position. But the BTC 💯Racing driver🀅 rode his luck after he lost the rear of his Honda at Campbell corner on the opening and slid into the Hyundai of Tom Ingram.

That brief moment of contact with Ingram ultimately prevented Cook from potentially spinning out of the lea♎d, while his BTC Racing team mate Cammish took advantage of Ingram being out of position and quickly moved into second.

The drama didn't end there, however, with Rory Butcher mired in the bottleneck behind Cammish and Ingram, the Toyot🌞a driver lost the rear of his Corolla and slammed into the tyre wall with a heavy impact.

Butcher walked away from ꦑthe incident, but the safety car was needed once again as the marshals cleared the wreckage from Goodwood corner.

In a near carbon copy of race one, Cook controlled proceedings the head of the field once the safety car peeled back into the pits on lap 6, this time with Cammi🎶sh acting as his♓ rear-gunner in second position.

Playing꧙ the team game on what might be his only appearance for BTC Racing this season, Cammish held station behind the ballast laden Cook.

Cook's second win of the day marked his sixth victory overall at the Hampshire circuit for☂ the Thruxton maestro.

MB Motorsport's Jake Hill recovered from a poor start to record his second podium finish of the day in third, while Dan Rowbottom took a career be🐻st of fourth position after beating the returning two-time champion Jason Plato in a straight fight.

Excler8's Tom Ingram failed to properly recover from finding himself edged out on the opening lap in si🌸xth, but finished ahead of Team BMW's Colin Turkington in seventh.

Aiden Moffat led his Laser Tools Racing team mate Ash Sutton in eighth and ninth. Sutton had to once again scythe his way back through from the back after the defending champion was called into 💃the pits during the safety car period with an engine issue.

With the issue resolved, Sutton ferociꦇously charged b🐈ack up the order and will start the reverse grid race on the second row of the grid. Tom Oliphant completed the top-ten ahead of his Team BMW team mate Stephen Jelley in eleventh.

Jelley will start race three from pole position following the reverse ♉grid draw.
