BMW's Timo Glock has opened his 2018 DTM victory account after bea🧔ting Mike Rockenfeller and Gary Paffett to the race two win 𝔉at the Hockenheimring.

Glock'✅s first win since Zandvoort 2017 has propelled the BMW Team RMR driver to the top of the drivers🐟' standings following the first weekend of action in the series, one point ahead of Paffett second.

The former F1-star started the second race from pole position and held off a stern three-car challenge from Rockenfeller, Paffett and DTM rookie Joel Eriksson to hand BMW th✅eir first win of the season.

Audi's Rockenfeller fol𝓡lowed the leading BMW M4 home in second, while Paffett backed up his race one victory with another podium result i👍n third.

BMW Team RBM's Eriksson took fourth in only his second race in ไthe series, ahead the Audi of Loic Duval and M✤ercedes' Pascal Wehrlein in sixth.

Despite starting the race from the front row, Audi's Rene Rast had to settle for seventh. The reigning champion emerges from the opening weekend sitting ༺10th in the drivers' standings, 34 points off t෴he pace.

A further four-seconds back from Rast, B💫runo Spengler added to his points tally wi🔥th an eighth place finish as Paul di Resta and Augusto Farfus rounded out the top-ten order in ninth and tenth.

Audi's Mattiꦑas Ekstrom marked his final DTM race with a 16th place finish.
