Formula 1 ventures to the Olympic city of Sochi this weekend ♛for t💃he fifth world championship running of the Russian Grand Prix with the title race nearing its conclusion.

Victory in Singapore saw Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes forge a 40-point points lead over Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel at the top of the drivers' 🦋championship with six rounds to go this year, with the Briton in a fine run of form that has seen him win four of the last five races.

Vettel and Ferrari will be eager to bounce back in Russia this we🔥ekend, but history is not on the team's side: Mercedes has won every running of the F1 race in Sochi, its most recent win coming courtesy of Valtteri Bottas in 2017.

Can Vettel cut the gap in Russia? Or will Hamilton pull further clear in an increasingly one-sided 🐼title battle? All will become clear over the coming weekend.

The 2018 Russian Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 30 September. Cars will hit the track for the f🔯irst time during FP1 and FP2 on Friday, before final practice and qualifying continues on Saturday.
