The V🍒8 Supercar Championship won't run as a support race for the 2013 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after FOM informed series organisers that there was no space for the series on the timetable.

The Australian championship was the only support race for the 2012 race at Yas ꦦMarina and included a race supporting the F1 event on its 2013 calendar when it was released late last year.

However, with GP2 and GP3 both competing alongside F1 in Abu Dhabi this season, the V8 race has been dropped from the weekend's schedule, a decision se🅠ries CEO David Malone said he understoo﷽d.

"It has always been clear that FOM ultimately decides, or approves, 'support' categories that run in conjunction with Formula One," he said. "We were acutely aware of this when we announced the 2013 calendar, with FOM then making this decision in l🐷ate December. We thoroughly enjoy competing alongside Formula One and are absolutely comfortable with this news.

"There are contingencie🅰s in place and we will discuss the optioಞns, which may include racing on an alternate date to Formula One in 2014, with Yas Marina Circuit as soon as possible.

"What is very clear is the outstanding relationship we have with Richard Cregan and his team at Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management; and a committed combined will to find an alternative💃 soluti♕on that fits for all.
