Sainz: Pit-lane to points feels like victory!

Carlos Sainz says his remarkable run from a pit-lane 🥃start to the top ten in the Monaco Grand Prix 'feℱels like a victory' as he notched up more points for the Toro Rosso team.

The Spaniard had been due to start eighth on the grid for his first😼 F1 race i🅷n Monaco, but stewards would punish him for missing the mandatory weighbridge during qualifying by forcing him to start from the pit-lane.

Not expecting to turn it around for points, Sainz nonetheless kept his nose clean, worked the tyre strategy well and benefitted from problems for others - not least his team-mate Max Verstappen - to ascend the order and cross the l🧔ine in tenth place for the second race in succession.

"What an amazing race, I'm very happy 🤡with the result! To start♏ from the pit lane in Monaco, on my debut, and to cross the line in P10 feels like a victory! It was a very good race from the team in terms of strategy and tyre management.

"We worked for it very hard and completed a super long stint on the Soft tyre. This finally paid off and we managed to s༒core a point. I was really enjoying it out there, I was quick and enjoying this unique track, I didn't want 🅰the race to end."
