The Spyker F1 has welcomed the news that the FIA's Court of Appeal has upheld the decision of the stewards ༺at the Japanese GP to hand Vitantonio Liuzzi a 25-second penalty for overtaking Adrian Sutil un🎐der a yellow flag.

The net effect of this was that Sutil, who had fi🅺nished ninth on the track behind Liuzzi, moved up into eighth and secured the final point. The result though remained provisional as Toro Rosso challenged the decision.

The Stewards' verdict was ratified by the FIA Court of Appeal on Friday however and noജw the Silverstone-based outfit k♓eeps it first ever point.

"I am delighted to confirm that the Court of Appe🌞al has upheld the Stewards' decision following the Japanese Grand Prix," said Spyker F1 team principal and managing director, Colin Kolles.

"W🍌e felt our case was without doubt, and the FIA had no objections to our evidence.

"This verdict has confirmed Spyker and Adrian Sutil's first-ever World Championship point, which was well-deserved given the difficult circumstances. The boost to the team has been invaluable and we can now 🌳move onto Brazil wi💦th renewed confidence."

Scuderia Toro Rosso team boss, Franz Tost meanwhile has said that his team accept the judgemen🐷t.

"Obviously we are disappointed, but we accept the decision of the court," he added. "Now, all our attention is fixed on next weekend's final round of the season in Brazil, where we hope to build on the good for🃏m the team has shown in recent races and try and win some more points on the track."
