Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest time on t🅘he morning of the second day of Formula 1's final in-season test in Hungary.

The Finn, fresh from claiming his ninth podium at the Hungaroring during last weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, returned to action for the Scuderia on Weꦗdnesday - which marks the final day of in-season testing this year. 

Raikkonen completed 69 laps and clocked a best lap of 1m16.171s to lead the morning session, as he got within half a second of the unofficial lap record Tuesday pacesetter Antonio Giovinazzi managed in the SF71H. The 🌠Italian posted his fastest effort on Hypersofts, 🍒while Raikkonen produced his best time on Softs. 

After a lo🎶w-💯key start to running on his return to the cockpit of Williams’ 2018 F1 challenger, Robert Kubica turned in a series of fast laps on Ultrasofts in the final hour before the lunch break, with a best time of a 1m18.451s putting him second fastest, albeit over two seconds off Raikkonen. 

Lando Norris made another appearance for McLaren as he lowered his pace from Tuesday, dipping into the 1m18s and completing a half-century of laps on his wa💦y to third in the timesheets. 

Sean Gelael recovered from his opening dꦦay crash 💯to set the fourth-quickest time following a short Hypersoft run, as he carried out normal testing duties for Toro Rosso having conducted tyre testing for Pirelli on Tuesday. 

He finished ahead of Mercedes youngster and Formula 2 championship leader George Russell, Giovinazzi - who took over running in Saꦫuber’s C37 - and Nikita Mazepin. The Russian caused a brief red fﷺlag period after his Force India ground to a halt at Turn 11 mid-way through the morning. 

F2 frontrunner Artem Markelov was eighth fastest as he completed 49 laps on his F1 test debut, with Red Bull simulator driver Jake Dennis ninth on his second appearance of the year for t🅘he Milton Keynes-based squad, following his maiden outing during the first in-season test in Barclelona.

Toro Rosso’s Brendon Hartley finished bottom of the timesheets as he turned attention to Pirelli tyre testing. The Kiwi willജ hand over his STR13 to teamไmate Pierre Gasly in the afternoon.
