Nicholas Latifi joins Williams F1 as reserve driver for 2019
Williams has confirmed Formula 2 racer Nicholas Latifi will join its Formula 1 operation ahead of the 2019 season, taking up the role of reserve drive🔯r.
Latifi, 23, hꦡas previously worked with bo꧑th Renault and, most recently, Force India in F1 as a test and development driver, making five FP1 appearances through the course of the 2018 season.

Latifi, 23, has previoꦛusly worked with both Renault and, most recently, Force India in F1 as a test and development driver, making five FP1 appearances through the course ꦏof the 2018 season.
The Canadian will continue to balance his racing commitments with an F1 programme in 2019 after being named as Williams' new reserve driver for ♔the 2019 season.
Lati꧃fi will offer support to full-time race drivers George Russell and Robert Kubica, the latterꦬ having acted as Williams' reserve in 2018 before being promoted into a race seat for next year.
"I'm thrilled to be joining an iconic team like Williams as a Reserve Driver for 2019. It's a fantastic opportunity to continue my F1 development, and to𝓰 build my on-track experience wiꦛth more FP1 sessions and the rookie and Pirelli tests," Latifi said.
"As well as t🐎his, a big part of my role will be simulator driving and helping to support the development of the new car. I look forward to spending time in the f🌊actory at Grove, immersing myself within the team and assisting wherever I can.

Latifi will feature in six FP1 sessions, ꦫtwo in-season test days, one pre-sea🐓son test day in Barcelona and two Pirelli test days across the course of 2019 as part of his role.
