Channel 4 and Sky extend free-to-air F1 TV deal
Channel 4 and Sky have agreed a fresh deal to retain free-to-air coverage of Formula 1 in the United Ki🥂ngdom beyond the end of the🐻 2019 season.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Channel 4 confirmed it had struck a new commercial contract with Sky to continue showing highlights of all races, as well as full live coverage of the British Grand Prix, on what it described as a “multi-year” dea�𒁏�l.

Sky’s exclusive rights to broadcast coverage of the championship in the UK began this year in a deal that run🎉s until 2024, meaning Channel 4 was forced to stop 🧔its previous free-to-air live coverage.
No details h🦹ave🦩 been provided over the exact length of the deal, though it is expected to continue beyond 2020.
Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon said: “Channel 4 has established itse🍃lf as the go-to channel for free to air television coverage of Formula 1 and we’re thrilled that motorsport fans will be able to continue to enjoy the excitement of F1 through our highlights of all the races and live coverage of the British Grand Prix.”
The partnership will continue to see closer ties formed between Sky and Channel 4 after the two broadcasters shared rights to the 🍸final of the Cricket World Cup earlier this year.
