Lewis Hamilton could find his front row start for the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix under threat afജter he was called to the stewards for bot💫h allegedly failing to slow for yellow flags in Q3 and a track limits breach.

Hamilton was in the hunt for pole position against hi🧸s Mercedes counterpart Valtteri Bottas when his team-mate ran off track and spun on the exit of turn five.

Prompting yellow flags to be shown, though Hamilton was unable to get the better of Bottꦇas by the end of the lap he did improve his time - just 0.012secs adrift of his team-mate - which could well see him in hot water with the stewards.

The notice says Hamilton has been called to the stewards for ‘allegedly failing to slow for yellow flags between turns five and seven (marshalling sectors ⛄9 and 10) at 15.59, alleged breach of Appendix Art. 2.5.5.1.b.

In addition, stewards are also loo🃏king at whether he also breached track limits at turn ten.

Direc✃tly after the session Hamilton said he hadn’t seen yellow flags and didn’t feel the incident prevented him from getting the better of Bottas.

“Valtteri did a fantastic job today with his lap, it’s amazing, I did not expect to have that sort of gap. We thought we were definitely quick eno🐬ugh to be fighting for the lead but there were different sho🎶wings of the other teams sometimes quick, sometimes a bit further behind, so that’s the true showing of our car and we plan to improve that.”

Hamilton’s punishments if found guilty could see him los꧙e his best lap time – which would leave him second – or potentially s🍸uffer a grid penalty of between three and five positions.
