F1 Belgian GP qualifying red-flagged after huge Lando Norris Eau Rouge crash
The McLaren driver lost control of th🥃e rear of his car in wet conditions on the approach to Eau Rouge and speared off into the barriers at the left-hand side at the top of the hill at high speed.
Norris reported he was “okay” but was seen holding his elbow as he climbed out of his wrecked McLaren. He is c🅠urrently being assessed at the circuit medical centreꦍ.
Q3 has been suspended so marshals can clea🥀r the debris as heavy rain continues to fall.
Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel had called for a red flag due to the worsening condiꦐtions just moments before Norris crashed.
Informed that the session had been stopped due to Norris’ accident, Vettel reacted with a pass⛦ionate outburst over team radio.
“What the f—-did I say? Red fl🔯ag! It’s unne🥂cessary. Is he okay?”
The four-time world champion was the first driver to pass the scene of Norris’ accident and stopped near the Bri𒊎ton’s car to check his rival was okay.
