Mercedes want Bottas, Russell F1 futures sorted before announcement

Mercedes will not announce who will get the seat alongside Lewis Hamilton in 2022 until both Valtteri Bottas and George Russell have secured their Formula 1 futures.

Speculation surrounding the identity of Hamilton’s teammate for next year has dominated the F1 headlines ever since the seven-time world cha🌺mpion agreed to a new two-year deal ahead of the season.

Having weighed up whether to retain Bottas or promote its protege and current Williams driver George Russell, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealed at the Belgian Grand Prix that 168澳洲幸运5官方开奖结果历史:he had finally made a decision.

There is a growing consensus within the F1 paddock tha𝕴t Russell has got the nod for the꧒ sole-remaining Mercedes works drive, however, a formal announcement has not yet come.

“There are stakeholders that are♔ involved that we need to respect,” Wꦍolff said when explaining why Mercedes has not yet confirmed who will partner Hamilton next season.

“And as long as contracts are not signed, 🌃it makes no sense to announce.”

Asked if Mercedes wants Bottas and Russell to have their futures sorted before an announcement is made, Wolff replied: “✅Yes.

“And it’s not only our call but there are other parties involved and you have to🧔 always proceed with respect and with diligence.”

Bottas has been linked with a move to either Alfa Romeo or Williams for next season🎶.
