The ex-F1 driver and CART IndyCar champio✱n is pushing ahead with plans to secure a place on the grid and join the world ✃championship grid with a new team, Andretti Global.

In a post on social media on Friday, the 1978 F1 world champion said his son’s proposed entry has “the resources and checks ever𓆏y box”.

He added the application is currently “aw🌱aiting the FIA’s determinatio🥂n.”

It marks the latest attempt to get the Andretti name onto the F1 grid after plans to enter with Sauber-owne🌸d Alfa Romeo fell through last year.

Andretti had been looking to acquire an 80 percent share of Islero Investments to put it contr▨ol of the Sauber Motorsport and Sauber Engineering divisions before it hit a snag.

Andretti blamed “control issues” for tꦐhe collapse of the deal ahead of the United States Grand Prix in October.

“I’d just like to put an end to some of those rumours that the deal fell th▨rough beca🎃use of financial reasons,” he said at the time.

“That co🍨uldn’t be further from the truth and it was noth💖ing to do with that.

“It basically came down to control issues in the fina🌊l hours of negotiations and that’s wha🎃t killed the deal.

“I’ve always said that if the deal is not rigꦛht, we’re not going to do it. And in the end, it wꦺasn’t right.

“🍨And so we continue to look for other opportunities.”

The Andretti operation already boasts several motorsport outfits including a succe✃ssful IndyCar team, while it has also branched out into Formula E and Extreme E in rece🌟nt years.
