Ricciardo to miss final day in Bahrain after positive COVID-19 test

Ricciardo was due to drive on the ♌opening day of testing in Sakhir but was ruled out after McLaren revealed that he was feeling unwell.
The Australian was unable to drive again on Friday meaning Lando Norris was in action on t𒐪he opening t♎wo days.
McLaren confirmed o༺n Friday that Ricciardo's condition wa🥂s improving, and his COVID-19 tests were coming back negative.
However, on Friday night, the team relea𝐆sed a statement stating that Ricciardo has tested positive and will not be able to drive for the team oꦅn Saturday.
The good news for Ricciardo is that under Bahrain's quarantine rules, 🐬should he recover, he will be able to compete in the season-opening grand prix at Sakhir.
“McLaren Racing can confirm that ♌after feeling unwell from Wednesday onwards in Bahrain, Daniel𝓰 Ricciardo has now returned a positive PCR test for COVID-19,” the statement read.
“Daniel is therefore continuing to iꦚsolate in accordance with local regulations. Under these regulations Daniel will be released in time for next weekend’s Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
“Daniel is already beginning to feel better, andꦅ we wish him well for a quick recovery.
“Following this, we can confirm that Lando Norris will remain in the MC𝕴L36 for the final day of the official pre-season test in Bahrain tomorro🌜w.”
