Ferrari junior Giuliano Alesi signs with Trident in F2 for 2019

Ferrari Driver Academy member Giuliano Alesi will step up to the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2019, continuing his relationship with Tr🌞ident into a fourth year.

The son of ex-Ferrari F1 driver Jean Alesi, Giuliano will move into F2 next year after spending three years racing🌳 in the GP3 Series, where he has claimed four race wins.

Alesi tested for Trident in the post-season F2ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ test at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and confirmed on Twitter on Friday he would be moving up to the category for 2019.

"It's an amazi𒁃ng opportunity," Alesi said. "First of all I want to thank Trident as it's going to be a pleasure to continue racing with them in F2. This is a new ♐category, a new adventure, which I'm really looking forward to.

"This year hasn't quite gone as ❀we all hoped, but I'm really looking forward to a successful season with Trident in 2019.

"We arꦍe going to work hard this winter, and try and come back as strong as possible for the season opener."

Alesi is the eighth driver to be confirmed on the F2 grid for 2019, with the new season kicking off in Bahrain🥂 at the end of March.
