Ilott claims home pole position at Silverstone in Formula 2

Callum Ilott continued his amazing Formula 2 qualifying record in 2020 as he claimed pole position at Silverstoneꦆ.
Ilott is the first driver in F2 this season to have scored two pole pos♉itions and the Brit hasn’t qualified outside the top three at any race in 20💧20.
The UNI-Virtuosi Racing driver’s pole position was confirmed after Sean Gelael had a spin at Copse corner on his final run, which resulted in yellow flꦕags - meaning drivers had to back off and thus couldn’t improve🐭 their lap times.
ART’s Christian Lundgaard will join Illoꦛt on the front row, having missed out on pole by just 0.115s.
The Dane was consi🔜stently fast in the opening sector of the lap but was unable to carry this advantage through the remaining two-thirds of theﷺ circuit.
Two more Brits in Jack Aitken an🍰d Dan Ticktum will start in third and fourth, ahead of Luca Ghiotto and the second UNI-Virtuosi Racing car of Guanyu Zhou.
