Lundgaard fastest overall on second day of F2 test in Bahrain

Alpine Formula 1 junior Christian Lundgaard set the fastest time in Formula 2 pre-s൲eason testing as he topped Tuesday𓆏's morning session in Bahrain.
Lundgaard wa🔴s the only man to dip under the 1m42s at the Bahrain International Circuit as he set 1m41.697s - only 0.2s shy of Callum Ilott's pole position time from last year's raceꦦ.
The ART Grand Prix driver completed 29 laps in the mor๊ning session and a further 45 laps in the afternoon where he focused on race simulations.
Lund❀gaard will be eyeing a strong start to the 2021 season after a promising rookie campaign.
The morning session was where the majority of𓃲 the fastest lap times were set.
Bent Viscaal and Marcus Armstrong were 0.3s shy of Lundgaard'♚s benchmark, while Dan Ticktum headed the afternoon timesheets with a 1m42.185s, fourth overall in the day's classification.
Ticktum completed 66 laps across the two sessions on day two in Bahrain as he continues to adapt to life at Ca✅rlin having made the move from DAMS.
Liamꦛ Lawson, Robert Shwartzman and Juri Vips were all within a tenth of each other in the morning🦂 session, all setting lap times in the 1m42.2s.
17-yeꦡar-old F2 rookie Theo Pourchaire completed 42 laps in the second ART Granಌd Prix car to finish seventh in the morning session. In the afternoon, he completed 47 laps as attentions turned to race trim.
Ro❀y Nissany classified eighth in the morning session ahe🎃ad of Oscar Piastri and Marino Sato.
Yesterday'𒅌s pacꦫe-setter David Beckmann could only manage 14th in the morning session; ninth in the afternoon.
With most drivers focusing on race simulations in the afternoon, few🧸 drivers bettered their personal best efforts from the morning, Ticktum being the notable exception.
The final day of testin♑g in Bahrain continues tomor💞row.
