Verschoor managed the two Safety Car periods beautifully to claim his first victory in the𝓀 series. Armstrong ended his bad run of form with four DNFs in the last six races by fin🌱ishing on the podium for the first time in 2021.
Dan Ticktum pressured Armstrong for the duration of the race but had to settle for ඣthird, a podium finish on home soil. Poi🗹nts leader Oscar Piastri overtook both Hitech drivers on his way to finishing fourth.
Piastri overtook Juri Vips on Lap 5 into Turn 3 before getting past Liam Lawson at Brooklands on Lap 18. Piastri will start tomorrow’s feature 🍷race from pole as he looks to extend his lead in the standings.
Behind the Hitech pair was Felipe Drugovich and D🅺avid Beckmann. Robert Shwartzman was on course to finish ninth and just outside of the points but spun out on the exit of the pen🐽ultimate corner, dropping to 15th at the chequered flag.
Theo Pourchaire could only finish tenth despite starting sixth, enduring a poor first lap. Guanyu Zhou recovered to finish an acceptable 11th, having started from the back of the grid🍸.
Ralph Boschung race ended prematurely as he spun at Turn 4 on the opening lap, rolling into the path of Alessio Deledda. Both drivers came away unscathed but it resultedꦗ in the first Safety Car period.
