Usain Bolt gives Duval boost in Formula E
Loic Duval has received a timely boost fr♕om Usain Bolt after winning a pre-event challenge for a unique 'Bolt's FanBoost' at the Formula E season finale in London.
The challenge, set up by London ePrix title sponsor Visa, saw drivers comp꧒ete in a 100m sprint race on the Battersea Park street circuit with the first across the finish line earning an endorsement from the fastest man of the planet and a better chance to win an extra FanBoost surge of power for this weekend's double header.
The victory could give Duval an increased chance of receiving the FanBoost, wit✨h help from Bolt's fan following. The French driver claimed glory ahead of Virign Racing's Sam Bird in second and the Audi Sport Abt's Daniel Abt in third.
"The challenge ⛦was great. Getting the fanboost will be a big advantage especially in London because the track is so narrow," Duval said.
The FanBoost feature was introduced at the start of the inaugural Formula E season to give fans opportunities to hand their favourite driver an extra speed boost by voting for them prior to the race. The three drivers with the most votes receive a five-second power boost to use once in the race which temporarily increases their car's power from 150kwatts𒉰 to 180kwatts.
Bolt said: "I k🎐now a thing or two about speed but when competing I always get that extra boost from my fans. Being Formula E's fastest fan, I want to share this advantage with a lucky driver at the Visa London ePrix, but they have to work for it first."
