Envision Virgin Racing has confirmed Nick Cassidy will join its team for the 2020/2021 FIA Formula E Woওrld Championship alongside Robin Frijn𓂃s, marking the series debut for one of motorsport’s keenly watched rising stars.

Though he doesn’t have the largest profile in Europe having limited his track time there to a single season stint in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship – finishing fourth overall in his rookie 2ꦺ016 campaign – he has since gone o൲n to become a star of the Japanese racing scene.

Already a Super Formula and Super GT Champion at the age of 25, Cassidy will thus return to a global stage later this ye🦩ar when he makes his Formula E debut with Virgin Racing, replacing S🃏am Bird who was confirmed with Jaguar yesterday.

It won’t be his first outing behind the wheel of a Formula E car, however, having joined Virgin for the post-event ‘rookie’ test in Marrakesh, where he made his pitch by setting a faster lap time than any of the racers diꦍd before him.

As part of thꦏe announcement Envision Virgin Racingไ also confirmed he will join Robin Frijns, who remans with the team for Season 7 of the all-electric series.
