Da Costa overtakes Evans on the final lap to win Formula E’s Monaco E-Prix

Da Costa made the 🅘most of Evans’ difficulties in managing the energy levels in his Jaguar, making a late lunge into the Nouvelle Chicane on the final lap to take the lead.
Evans had maintained a small lead before the Safety Car w💛as deployed as a result of Ren🍌e Rast's crash into the barriers.
With less energy remaining than his nearest rival💟s, Evans was under immense pressure from the restart andღ ultimately couldn't resist da Costa or Robin Frijns.
Frijns managed to get ahead of the J📖aguar driver, pipping him to the l🌠ine by just 0.024s.
Evans’ slow final lap handed da Costa a comfortable 2.8s margin to get his ti𒁏tle charge back on track.
Frijns’ podium in the principality means he leads the drivers’ championship, as both Mercedes driveꦇrs failed to make the chequered flag.

Sam Bird recovered to seventꦫh having qualified 16th, to help Jaguar close to within just two points of Mercedes in the teams’ championship.
The second Virgin Nick Cassidy finished seventh ahead of Andre Lotterer, who went from 19th to finish an impressive 🤪ninth.
