Formula E returns with the season-opener taking place under the lights in Dir💟iyah.

The season opens with a double-header in Saudi Arabia with the all-electric ser𒀰ies entering its eighth season - its final before the ‘Gen3’ era.

While the ca๊rs have mওostly stayed the same for 2022, the biggest change is the qualifying format.

Group qualifying - the previous format - was criticised for being too disadvantageous for the 💟title contenders given they were forced to qualify in group one and thus have the worst of the track conditions.

Instead, Formula E has implemented a complex, knock-💞out style qualifying format.

Reigning world champions Mercedes retains its pairܫing of 2021 Formula E champion Nyck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne.

Oliver Rowland has switched to Nissan from Mahindra, whileℱ Lucas di Grassi is at Venturi following✤ Audi’s exit.

Former F1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi makes his debut in the series with Dragon, as does Dan Ticktum at NI💛O 333.
