Team Petronas Syntium Proton driver Shaun Watson-Smith is racing for the first time in the British Touring Car Championship wi🦹th his BTCC race debut taking place this w🦩eekend at Thruxton.

Coming from South Africa, how does Shaun see the championship in which he will be competing this season? "C🌊ertainly from a worldwide perception point of view the BTCC is one of the top touring car series in the world so from that perspective it's a big challenge," he says.

So, where would he lik♛e to see himself and the Te♛am PSP in 2004? "We'd like to win some races, even though that's being ambitious, because they were a long way behind last year, but I'm confident we've made a big step with the car," he says.

"We won't know 🧸how big until we run with other cars but we certainly want to run at the fronꦛt. With Petronas and Mike Carroll designing the cars in years gone by we have always have competed for race wins and we obviously don't want to not do that now. "
