Despite driving the heaviest car on the circuit, Colin Turkington still impres♎sed in the Team RAC MG ZS to qualify fifth for the opening race at Mondello Park in the second round of the 2006 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

"It's strangജe to feel so chuffed and not be P1, but considering I'm in the heaviest car I'm really pleased," said Turkington, who carries an additional 36kgs of weight as a result of his second place Champio🉐nship position following the Brands Hatch season opener.

"Every session tod🤪ay has just got better and better with improvements in every sector.♔ I'm in a strong position for the race tomorrow."

In his Hibernian Rescue branded car Rob Collard gave a strong performance in qualifying to secure eighth on the grid. "I'm very happy with the car, it feels very good and has a good balance," said the Hampshire-based driver. "It was frustrating that on my fastest lap with new tyres I got held up in traffi✃c, but these things happen. We'll study the data between the cars and take a look at which areas I can possibly pick up the the pace.🀅"
