Saturday's North West 200 has been cancelled following a fatal accident involving Malachi Mitchell-Thomওas.

The incident happenꦉed on the third lap of the Supertwins race, which occurred on the approach to Black Hill.

A statement from the organisers said: "Malachi Mitchell-Thomas has died as a result of a craജsh on the third lap of the Supertwins race at the Vauxhall International North West 200 today.

"The 20 year old from Chorley in Lancashire crashed his Burrows Engineering Kawasaki on the approach to Black Hill. The race w🐼as immediately red flagged and Malachi was treated by medical staff from the MCUI Medical🃏 team but succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

"No ot𒁃her riders were involved in the incide💝nt. Racing was subsequently abandoned.

"The or♔ganisers of the event, the Coleraine and District Motor Club, would like to offer their heartfelt condolences to Malachi's family and team."
