Byrne: Getting electronics right on Be Wiser Ducati is key
Shane Byrne says the key to unlock success with ꦦthe Be Wiser Ducati will be to dial in the electronics package on the Paniga♍le after enjoying the initial pre-season tests.
The four-⭕time BSB champion and PBM squad has opted to return to familiar machinery for 2016 by switch🔯ing back to Ducati, the manufacturer Byrne claimed the 2003 and 2008 BSB titles with, while PBM also welcomes new team-mate Glenn Irwin into the fold.
Speaking at the team's launch in London, Byrne says he is satisfied with his initial feeling with the factory Panigale ꦑR and believes it has a lot more potential to give ahead of the new season.
Byrne says his PBM Ducati team, which has been bolstered by the arrival of Giovanni Crupi as new crew chief who worked with the British rider at World Superbike level, will be looking to extract the bike's full potential by mastering🤪 the MoTeC electronics which is mandatory in BSB.
"We nee♊d to work on the electronics because that is the fundamental change between our bike and the Wold Superbike Ducati," Byrne said. "For me it is something we have to get right, to make the bike as rideable as possible. Every time we mak🌠e an improvement with the electronics it changes the chassis so it is a constant catch up.
"There is an awful lot of potential to come from the electronics and with that an awful lot will come from the chassis. We've got some new parts to try out for our next t💞est so I can't wait to get riding again."
PBM Ducati recommences pre-season testing next month ahead of the 2016 MCE British Superbikꦿe season opener at Silverstone on the 8-10 April.
