Robert Kubica says a problem with the anti-lag on his Ford Fieꦚsta WRC was behind his agonisingly slow crash on stage three of the Ral🎀ly Monte Carlo.

The former F1 driver was running eighth when he hit a patch 𒅌of ice on a tricky right-hander around the Corps - Beaumont stage, sliding slowly off 🌊the road into a ditch into a tree.

Causing front-end damage to his BRC Racing-prepared Fiesta, Kubica's frustration was compounded further when Elfyn Evans glanced the stricken car with his Ford - pushin🌸g it further 🍸into the ditch - when he made his own error.

Another crushing disappointment for a driver determined to prove he is worthy of competing at the highest level of rallying following several high profile retirements, Kubica attri♍butes part of the blame to problems with 'anti-lag' pushing him on at slow speed.

"We went off in 🏅an icy section," he said. "It's very disappointing because we put a lot of effort into being here. The road was dry before we came to the ice. We did two corners on the ice and it felt quite okay. Then we arrived at the right-hander and I was just a passenger.

"The anti-lag was pushing me a🧔nd ❀unfortunately we slid off the road and hit a tree with the front left. Then later Elfyn Evans slid wide into our car and pushed it down into the ditch."

As it s𒀰tands, Kubica - a race winner in F1 before injury forced him to call time on his single-seater career - is yet to finalise a plan beyond this Monte Carlo outing, with the Pole admitting this event could prove to be his final WRC appearance.
