Mexican GP honour Mansell by renaming final turn

Nigel Mansell has been honoured by Mexican Grand Prix organisers with turn 17 of the updated circuit being named after the forไmer Formula 1 star, as the sport returns to the country later this year.
Mansell claimed the last race victory of the Mexican GP in 1992 on his way to the F1 world championship with Williams. The final turn of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City has been renamed the Nigel Mansell Turn and the Brit says he is 'flꦍattered, proud and delighted' to accept the honour.
"I have extremely fond memories of racing in M?xico City, the people, the energy and the track itself were all highlights of the F1 calendar back then for me," Mansell said. "When I found out about the turn naming of course I flattered, proud and 💎delighted in equal m𝐆easure.
"The news instantly brought to mind my unexpected overtaking manoeuvre on Gerhard Berger actually on the old Peraltada section to come in secon💙d behind my Ferrari team-mate Alain Prost back in 1990.
"I can't bel✤ieve that was 25 years ago. and that it's been 23 years since my last win at the track. I've carefully observed what the organisers have been doing and I꧂'m really looking forward to seeing it for myself a little later this year."
Mansell will attend the 2015 M🐠exican Grand Prix (30 Oc𒆙tober - 1 November) and an official ceremony is expected to be organised to mark the occasion.
