Felipe Nasr admits his dramatic accident during final free practice for t🍸he Canadian Grand Prix was his fault after catching the DRS🅰 button whilst warming his tyres.

The Brazilian was attempting to get heat into the rubber prior to starting a fast lap down the back straight, only tᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚo spear off suddenly nose first into the wall.

Reflecting on the incident, which left the Sauber with significant damage, Nasr held up his handsℱ to fault by saying he simply caught the button accidentally.

"I think it was a combination of things, but at the same time it was simple," ꦑhe said. "I was trying to bring my tyres up to temperature because I had just completed a run ⭕on them. When I went to the back straight the wind was a lot stronger today and when I was doing the weaving, somehow I pressed the DRS and that caught me by surprise.

"It is simple. There is nothing I couldꦜ have done because it happened so quickly. The team did a fantastic job to put the﷽ car together. We had no issues on the chassis so looking at the big picture, the result in qualifying is still pretty good.

Though he was largely unhurt in the smash, save for a sore neck, Nasr was able to get out for qualifying and proceeded to qualif⛎y 15th, where he is looking to potentially challenge for points.

"Looking back at the races with a long straight, it was a༺ benefit for us. I am hoping we can use that as an advantage tomorrow. We are in a good position to fight for a few places in front, so we have to manage every💦thing to make sure we get on the right strategy."
