Sauber's former reserve driver Robin Frijns 💟has tested a DTM machine at Spain's Monteblanco circuit earlier this week as Audi evaluated a numbꦚer of young drivers.

Frijn's had looked set to rise to a full-time F1 seat after being touted by Sauber following his 2012 World Series by Renault 🐎championship success, but was surprisingly let go by 🔥the Swiss outfit earlier this summer despite only having driven once for the team.

The Dutchman took part in the test along with seven other young hop🌟efuls, including the two Briton's of Jordan King and Harry Ticknell, under the watchful eyes of former double DTM-champion Timo Schieder and Audi's new rising star Adrien Tambay.

Audi's head of DTM Dieter Gass stressed the importance of conducting young driver tests, such as the one c🦩arried out at Monteblanco, as a valuable investment for the Ingolstadt manufacturer's future talent.

"We regard this talent scouting event as an investment in the fu🌺ture," said Gass.

"We're absolutely happy with our current driver line-up but would still like to give young talents an opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes of the DTM from time to 🀅time.

"This is how some of our current drivers got started as well and todaওy they're part of the DTM or other series."
