Elfyn Evans and co-driver, Daniel Barritt reflect af♔ter taking the WRC2 win on Wales Rally GB, the season finale...

Q:
Elfyn, congratulations on your fi🅷rst win in WRC 2 and it has come at home! Happy with the result?

Elfyn Evans:
I was really hungry for the win and I hoped it would come earlier, but Robert Kubica was very fast on tarmac and a fair ch♍allenge. Nonetheless, it's been a great challenge all year, but the goal was to come home and win and it's a very 𝓰special feeling to have achieved that.

Q:
How much were you on the limit?

Elfyn Evans:
Not for the whole rally. We weren't flat out on🧔 Thursday night. We had to extract something to keep our position on Friday, but when it came to the first stage on Saturday I was fairly confident. After that it was a matter of controlling it.

Q:
The conditions didn't seem too bad this year?

Elfyn Evans:
We've been very lucky! There hasn't been any fog or even much rain. Especially on Friday, the grip levels were the lowest I've competed on i♎n Wales - I♎ was very surprised at this.

Q:
It must have been great to see so many spectators out ⭕there?

Elfyn Evans:
I was so pleased to see so many cars parked at the side of the road and so many Welsh flags - you know there's a lot of people, bu﷽t you don't always notice tᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚhem in the forest stages. But I noticed them today!

Q:
What do you know about next year?

Elfyn Evans:
I don't know. I know what I'd like to do...

Q:
Which is?

Elfyn Evans:
Well, experience of all the rounds of the World Championship, this is where I want to be competing. The main thing is to secure a full programme for ꧋next year. It's a big ask, but it's what I want to try and do.

Q:
When will you find out?

Elfyn Evans:
I haven't a clue!

Q:
Dan, you must be pleased with this result?

Daniel Barritt:
Very happy. We've both worked really hard all year and it's all come together on this rally. The car and the team have been perfect - but Elfyn has driven the perfect rally here. And it wasn't easy, there was a lot of pressure on his home rally, but he hasn't put a wheel wrong.
Q:
That relationship between the two of you lo꧑oks very strong?

Daniel Barritt:
It's good. It's developed and we've got on well as the season's progressed. I hope we can carry this on in the future.
Q:
These are difficult stages for the co-driver as well as💯 the driver?

Daniel Barritt:
They are. They're fast and in places quite busy, there's a lot of sliding around as well. And the night stages🌊 make it quite difficult, but it's been a great rally.
