Following Sunday's season-ending Valencia Grand Prix, a two-day post se🍌ason MotoGP test began at the circuit on Tuesday.

However rain began falling shortly after the track opened and the circu💫it remained wet thereafter. The fastest lap times were set on slicks just before ♓the rain.

The test marked Valentino Rossi's first Yamaha laps since 2010, while Rossi's Duc🔯ati replacement Andrea Dovizioso made his Desmosedici debut. Rossi (pictured) did not complete a flying dry lap.

Moto2 stars and 2013 MotoGP rookies Marc Marquez (Honda) and Bradle𝓡y Smith (Tech 3 Yamaha) were among seven riders not to record a lap time.

Former MotoGP racer Loris Capirossi rode Sm🏅ith's bike this morning, posting a lap of 1m 35.954s, which was later dropped from the timesheets.

Ben Spies, moving from Yamaha to D🌼ucati for 2013, is not present due to recent surgery. His place is being taken by new Duca꧑ti test rider Michele Pirro.

Testing will continue at Val💟encia on Wednesday - but without Yamaha, which is switching to Aragon in search of better weather.
