Generous gesture by Dorna boss
Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta has been revealed as the winning bidder for a special 'Super SIC' Honda CBR1000RR, auctioned off on eBay to raise fundꦚs for the Marco Simoncelli Foundation.
Accord൲ing to Spanish sportspaper , Ezpeleta provided the highest bid at just over 50,000 euros - then raised it to 58,000 in further honour of Simoncelli, who raced with the #58.
Instead of taking ownership of the bike, Ezpeleta will hand it back to𓂃 Simo🌠ncelli's parents.
"We are deeply moved. This gest👍ure willꦡ stay in our hearts," Marco's father Paolo is quoted as saying.
Former 250cc world champion S🦩imoncelli lost his life during last October's Malaysian MotoGP race.
The specia🍸l CBR had been presented to Marco's father, along with Simoncelli's RC212V race bike, by HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto.
