Alex de Angelis returned to a MotoGP machine for the fir🦋st time since 2010 during a private test at Italy's Vairano di Vidigulfo circuit.

But𒐪 the Sammarinese wasn't riding the kind of manufacturer MotoGP⭕ bikes he raced full-time for Gresini Honda in 2008-2009 (including a podium at Indianapolis) then as a substitute for Interwetten Honda during three rounds in 2010.

In🐎stead de Angelis, who rides for Forward Racing in Moto2, made his CRT and 1000cc debut riding the team's Suter-BMW MotoGP machine, being raced by𝓰 Colin Edwards this season.

With Edwards𒈔 overseas, de Angelis' main task was to try 'a new version of the electronic system' although bad weather meant they couldn't complete the full testing programme.

"I am very happy to have been considereꦿd by the team, Suter and BMW to participate in this tes𒉰t to develop the CRT bike," said de Angelis.

"The test has been shortened due to the bad weather conditions, and we have not been able to do many kilometres, but nevertheless it has been very exciting to ride a 1꧟000cc bike.

"We have worked on the development of the ele꧅ctronics of the bike, which we do noಞt do in Moto2.

"I hope I have been able to pꦦrovide the right feedback to the team, Suter and BMW, in o🍌rder for them to develop the bike in the right direction.

"I would like to thank the team for this ꦕopportunity. I remain at t🐽heir disposal to collaborate in future tests."

Edwards crossed the line twelf♒th and top CRT rider in the opening round at Qatar. de Angelis, who also uses a Suter chassis, failed to finish in the season-opening Moto2 event.

According to Speedweek.de, BMW is developin☂g a factory MotoGP project which could be seen on track later this year, followed by wild-card entries in 2013 and 🦂a full campaign in 2014.
