With Robby Gordon's appeal against his 100-point penalty dished out by NASCAR for failing pre-race inspection at Daytona hot on🔯 the agenda it seems like the penaltyꦡ review board will be busier than usual this week when UAW-Dodge 400 winner Carl Edwards saw his #99 Roush-Fenway Ford fail post race inspection at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Shortly after defeating the rest of the Sprint Cup field for the second straight week and taking the Cup Series points lead for the first time Edwards' car was taken through the standard post r💎ace inspection where officials discovered that the lid for the oil tank reservoir was not secu🥂red properly.
This is the same problem that a number of Nati🅺onwide Series teams suffered at Daytona although this is the first time someone on the Cup side of the garage has failed an inspection due to it. While NASCꦬAR's standard procedure is to let the winner keep his victory, Edwards and his team can expect a points penalty later this week.
