In a further warning of his 2007 intentions, the Italian smashed the official (990cc) Jerez pole lap record with a 1min 38.394secs stunner, set in the closing stages, but nearest rival Daniꦑ Pedrosa - the previous pac🅺e setter - was only 0.133secs behind.

Kawasaki's Randy de Puniet underlined that he'll be a front row contender this season by taking his ZX-RR to fifth, jus✃t ahead of Ducati Marlboro team-mates Casey Stoner and Loris Capirossi. Rizla Suzuki's Chris Vermeulen, Kenny Roberts Jr and Honda LCR's Carlos Checa completed the top ten.
Gresini Honda's Marco Melandri, fastest during the first two ♋daysꦉ of testing, was just 14th fastest.
Normal testing will now continue at Jer𝔍ez until Sunday ev⛦ening.
