Poole Speedway promoters Matt Ford 🐭and Mike Golding have acted quickly to issue a statement denying the rumours currently sweeping the South Coast about the potential sale of the Wimborne Road stadium.

This comes afte🦋r promoter Mike Golding had been given assurances from Stadia UK, the stadium landlords, that these rumours were comp🧸letely unfounded.

"I had discussions with the stadium owners as soon as I was contacted by concerned supporters as all of this was new to me " said Golding " however, our landlords were quick to assure us that there were no plans afoot to sell the stadium and they themselves were most disturbed about the stories that were doing ജthe rounds."

Poole Council, owners of the town stadium where൩ the Pirates have raced for the past 59 years, also assured the Castle Cover Pirates owners and fans that it had no plans to s🐎ell up.

The leader of Poole Council Brian Leverett said " It was the ai🥀m of this Council 💧to preserve that area as a Stadium and protect and retain within Poole sports such as speedway. Our view on this has not changed."

Speedway has been one of Poole's most popular and successful sports since 1948 when the Pirates first took to the Wimborne Road track. During this time the Pirates have been crowned league champions on no less than 11 separate occasion, their last coming in 👍2004 when they raced to an Elite league and Cup double triumph.
