As if runn🍬ing two V꧒8 Supercar Championship Fords and two HPDC entries isn't hard enough work, Dick Johnson Racing has announced that it is to run a fifth car this weekend at Queensland Raceway.

Steve Johnson and Glenn Seton will again drive in the V8 Supercar Championship while Will Davison will join Dean Canto and Grant Denyer in the HP꧋DC V8 Supercar Series.

Davison, who has been signed to DJR as one of its Bathurst drivers, will drive the #19 Breakaway Direct backed Ford Falcon AU, giving hi𒉰m valuable miles🍨 in preparation for the endurance rounds starting in September.

"There was talk in late April, early May that I may get a drive at the Q💦ueensland rꦺound, but it wasn't confirmed until recently," he said. "I'm excited to be racing again. I'll be honest, I've had enough of the cycling and the swimming, I just want to get in the car and drive. It's been a long time coming.

"This week's V8 r♒ound gives me the opportunity to get some miles. I'd like to mix it with the guy꧋s at the front without getting in the way, I obviously don't want to interfere with the championship too much. I'm more grateful to DJR, it's an extra that they threw in which has added to my will to want to race with them. They're doing everything they can to help prepare me for the endurance races.

"It'll be good. Racing this weekend will help meඣ get my e꧟ye in before Sandown. It's beneficial for all of us. On top of that Andrew Jones won last year's Konica series with a #19 Ford AU, that's got to be a good omen."

DJR team manager Dean Orr said that putting Davison into the car and letting him race was the best way to help him pr😼epare for the endurance races at Sandow🔯n and Bathurst.

"We want to ൩give Will miles, it's as simple as that," he said. "The testing restrictions are difficult to work around so the best possible driving alternative was to enter him in the HP🍷DC round at Queensland.

"It allows him to practice; to qualify his own car and to race. It also allows us to find out about his race craft, which is difficult to as⛎certain at a test. Will did plenty of laps in the AU last Friday working on the Ford's chassis balance in preparation for this weekend, which we think will make him competitive. He also did laps in Steve Johnson's BA so that he when Sandown and B⭕athurst come along he knows what to expect.

"Will's got an enormous amoun𓆏t of potential, I want to give him every chance to prove himself and be as prepared and comfortable in a V8 Supercar꧑ as he can."

This weekend will be the first time that Breakaway Direct has involved itself in V8 Supercars DJR general manager Steve Ch🔯alker said he was pleased to bring another new company into the series.

"When it comes to sponsorship it is tough ꧒out there, but we've worked extremely hard to get new companies invo🍸lved in V8 Supercars," he said. "Westpoint, Gatorz and now Breakaway Direct, it's been quite a year for Dick Johnson Racing.

"Breakway Direct will back Will Davison's Ford this 💖weekend, but you never know where the relationship might 🎶go in the future."
