Downs, 24, an🍬 aspiring doctor who put off medical school to compete for the crown, bested Miss Louisiana Jennifer Dupont to become Miss America 2005. Downs won a $50,000 scholarship to continue her education.
A whirlwind publicity tour began in the U.S. on Monday morning, with appearances on NBC's Today with Katie Couric and Matt Lauer and ABC's LIVE with Regis & Kelly. After appearances on the CBS Early Show and The Late Show with David Letterman, along with corporate meetings, Downs wi😼ll head to Dover for race w♚eekend.
She will make various ho🌱spitality appearances, participate in driver inᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚtroductions on stage, and serve as Grand Marshal for Sunday's MBNA America 400 at Dover International Speedway.
