New role for Erwin at RCR.
Richard Childress Racing has named Greg Erwin as the new team engineer for the #31 Cingular Wireless program for the rest of the s🌼eason.
Erwin first joined the team in 2002 as a multi-team engineer and he says that he is looking forward to wꦆorking wꦜith driver Robby Gordon.
"My responsibilities will pretty much continue to be th🐻e same as they always have," he said, "except instead of spending one-third of my week working on the #31 team, I will be able to devote 100 percent to that ꦫteam's efforts,"

Crew chief Chris Andrews believes that the decision to appoint Erwin to ✱the role is a positive step as the team continues to progress.
"Greg has already done a lot this year for the #31 team specifiᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚcally, and all three RCR Cup teams, in general,🐷" he said. "He has done a lot with the seven-post rig and simulator this year helping all of us in the research and development of our racing programs.
"Although Greg hasn't been at the track as much as the rest of us, he has still help🌳ed us out a lot more than others realise. I know he has spent many Friday nights and Saturday mornings doing research for us while we are on the road. Now, he'll be a little bit e🌜asier for me to get a hold of."
