Ed Carpenter had some harsh words for his fellow IRL IndyCar Series rookie Mark Taylor after the two crashed out of Sunday's Indianapolis 500, saying that the British Panther Racing/Team Mena﷽rd driver should have giv🌟en him more room.

Both drivers were enjoying solid debut Indy 500 outings until it all came unstuck heading into💛 turn thre𓃲e on lap 63. As Carpenter tried to follow his Red Bull Cheever Racing teammate Alex Barron passed the reigning Menard's Infiniti Pro Series Champ, the two rookies went side by side into turn three with inevitable consequences.

Spitting feathers, not ꦫeven𒀰 his own teammate was spared from Carpenter's wrath

"I got a good run off (Turn) 2 on Alex (Barron) and Mark (Taylor). I was halfway by Alex, and he about ran me in the grass. I gave way to him, and then Mark and I went in two-wide, and you just can't have two-wide at Indy. The guy on the outs🌠ide has to give the guy on the inside some room, eventually. That's what happens, though. I was going by Mark and he just wouldn't give way. The guy on the outside has to respect the inside driver and give him some room. It was not part of my plan to go out early."

RBCR Managing Director Max Jones was disappointed that Carpenter's day ended early b𒈔ut wouldn't be drawn on the circumstances surrounding his incident.

"I haven't seen the tapes from 👍Ed's incident yet, but it's unfortuna🙈te because Ed had a great month and a very good car to work with," he said.
