Mark Webber will have his European Grand Prix qualifying time extended by one second following a yellow flag infrin✨gement at the Nurburgring.

The Australian, along with Jaguar reserve driver Bjorn Wirdheim, was reprimanded for not slowing down sufficiently while Felipe Massa's stranded Sauber was removed from t👍he side of the track in the second of Friday's free practice sessions. Both drivers apparently claimed that the distance between the incident and the signalling post involved was not long enough to warn them, the stewards dismissed their objections.

While not as heavy a punishment as that imposed on the second Sauber of Giancarlo Fisichella - which will lose ten places on the grid after unde🔯rgoing an engine change between sessions on Friday - Webber will undoubtedly move backwards as a result of his penalty.

Based on 🦄his Saturday morning practice times, Webb🔯er's extra second would cost him four places - moving backwards from twelfth to 16th.
