McLaren executive director Zak Brown has dismissed the suggestion that Fernando Alonso c♔ould miss the Formula 1 race in Singapore in order to take part in IndyCar’s season finale at Sonoma, calling it “fake news”.

Two-time F1 world champion Alonso missed the Monaco Grand Prix to make his debut at the Indianapolis 5💫00 back in May as part of a joint entry between McLaren, Honda and ♉Andretti Autosport, qualifying fifth and leading part of the race before ultimately retiring with an engine failure.

Alonso’s ev♌ident enjoyment of the IndyCar event led to suggestions that he could be set to make a second appearance at the final race of the year at So🔯noma, which clashes with the Singapore Grand Prix.

However, Brown was quick to dism𒈔iss the suggestion, confirming that Alonso would be racing in Singapore as planned.
